Bloggers Quilt Festival - Spring 2009

Park City Girl is sponsoring a Bloggers Quilt Festival today. We're supposed to post a photo of a favorite completed quilt project and tell the story that goes with it. Sign up at Park City Girl for some wonderful giveaways and check out some of the wonderful quilts on display.

My favorite quilt is Woodland Symphony. I made this for a friend who took seriously ill this past summer. I went to see her in October and decided to make this quilt as a present of our friendship and to keep her warm and cosy over the fall and winter months. She has had a slow and steady recovery from the virus that attacked her heart and is doing so much better now that we are into the spring. The doctors are now looking are reducing the meds that she is on so things are looking good for her.

Before I left to visit my friend I took the quilt into my office to show a few friends what I had made and they loved it. In fact one gal loved it so much she approached me and asked if I could possibly make her one. I said that if she could wait until the spring I could. So my next project is going to be Woodland Symphony II.

Hi Vicki, Love the quilt! I'm not a fan of green, but this quilt is so lovely, you could imagine you were lying under a tree snuggling down amongst the leaves. I really like the leafy print in the top corner. Glad to hear your friend is on the mend. :-)

Beautiful windows and kudos on your request. Have you heard the saying that a quilt is made with so much love it will heal the person who sleeps under it?

Scottish folds! My mom has a kitten straight eared as well. Aren't they wonderful!

That quilt is great. I know your friend found great comfort in its beauty and in the fact that you made it for her.
