A special quilt that I made was back in 2009 and it was called Dragon Odyssey.
I made it for a close friend of mine. She had asked for a quilt with dragons but most of the fabric with dragons on it was geared more to kids. I eventually saw a wall hanging that used a batik dragon panel and I thought that this was a much better idea. I was able to source a batik dragon and made this quilt for my friend's birthday. Her favourite colours are purple and turquoise so those were the main colours that I used for this quilt. She loved the quilt and to this day it hangs in her living room.

Bloggers Quilt Festival - Spring 2009
Park City Girl is sponsoring a Bloggers Quilt Festival today. We're supposed to post a photo of a favorite completed quilt project and tell the story that goes with it. Sign up at Park City Girl for some wonderful giveaways and check out some of the wonderful quilts on display.
My favorite quilt is Woodland Symphony. I made this for a friend who took seriously ill this past summer. I went to see her in October and decided to make this quilt as a present of our friendship and to keep her warm and cosy over the fall and winter months. She has had a slow and steady recovery from the virus that attacked her heart and is doing so much better now that we are into the spring. The doctors are now looking are reducing the meds that she is on so things are looking good for her.
Before I left to visit my friend I took the quilt into my office to show a few friends what I had made and they loved it. In fact one gal loved it so much she approached me and asked if I could possibly make her one. I said that if she could wait until the spring I could. So my next project is going to be Woodland Symphony II.
